Chesapeake Sheriffs Office ASPIRE program

The Chesapeake Sheriff's Office recently awarded $1,000 college scholarships to four graduates of ASPIRE: Session VII--its two-year program designed to help mentor and guide local children in their roles as "future leaders." The students attended workshops on self-defense, public speaking, conflict resolution, and resume writing, and went on a field trip to the General Assembly. Sheriff O'Sullivan, Captain J. Stafford,1st Sergeant K. Taylor, and Mayor Rick West attended the ceremony. Sheriff O'Sullivan ended the event by welcoming the Session VIII participants to the program.
